Effect of aluminate and carbonate in magnesia silicate cement

چکیده
The effect of alumina and carbonates on magnesium silicate hydrate (M-S-H) cements was investigated at high Mg/Si ratios (1.5–2.5), constant Na2CO3 concentration (17 g/L) Al/Si ratio either 0, 1 or 3.2. Either MgO MgO/hydromagnesite (50/50 wt %) used, as well silica fume, metakaolin amorphous Al2O3. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), 29Si 27Al MAS NMR data showed that M-(A-)S–H phases formed in all cases hydrotalcite presence aluminum. Little hydromagnesite had reacted the 23Na only little sodium sorbed; thermogravimetric coupled with infrared exhaust gas 13 C were incorporated traces carbonate sorbed. Thermodynamic modelling carried out an updated Mg-phases database relatively good agreement phase assemblage observed if reactivity starting materials considered.

Hydration water and microstructure in calcium silicate and aluminate hydrates
Understanding the state of the hydration water and the microstructure development in a cement paste is likely to be the key for the improvement of its ultimate strength and durability. In order to distinguish and characterize the reacted and unreacted water, the single-particle dynamics of water molecules in hydrated calcium silicates (C3S, C2S) and aluminates (C3A, C4AF) were studied by quasi-...
متن کاملMolecular silicate and aluminate species in anhydrous and hydrated cements.
The compositions and molecular structures of anhydrous and hydrated cements are established by using advanced solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy methods to distinguish among different molecular species and changes that occur as a result of cement hydration and setting. One- and two-dimensional (2D) solid-state (29)Si and (27)Al magic-angle spinning NMR methodologies, incl...
متن کاملAluminate Cement (EndoBinder) Containing Different Radiopacifiers
containing different radiopacifiers, Bi2O3, ZnO or ZrO2, compared with Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA). According to ISO 10993-12:2012 (E) recommendations, 0.2 g of each cement were applied in transwell inserts and placed in 24-well culture plates containing 1 mL of culture medium (DMEM). After 24 h of incubation, the extracts (DMEM containing components released from the cements) were applied...
متن کاملSolidification/Stabilization of Lead Contaminated Soil Using Magnesia Phosphate cement and Ordinary Portland cement
Background and objectives: Solidification/stabilization is an effective technique for reducing the leachability of contaminants in soils. Magnesia phosphate cement and ordinary Portland cement can be used to remediate soils contaminated. In this study, the performance of the solidified/stabilized soil was compared for mixtures composed of magnesia phosphate and ordinary Portland cement. Materia...
متن کاملEffect of Calcium Carbonate Fineness on Calcium Sulfoaluminate-Belite Cement
This study investigated the hydration characteristics and strength development of calcium sulfoaluminate-belite (CSAB) cements incorporating calcium carbonate (CC) powders with various particle size distributions and different gypsum amounts. In general, the CSAB hydration was accelerated by the CC powder, but the acceleration and resulting strength improvement were more effective with finer CC...
